Establishment of an MSA Task force for improved control of residual malaria in project countries

Objectives

The MSA task force is an operational in-country organ which will be put in place during  the course of this project. This task force will actively work with the project team to acquire enough operational knowledge and experience in planning and implementing MSA interventions for improved malaria vector control.

The role of this MSA task force is to:

  • Work with the NMCP to boost and fast track existing MSA

  • Organize MSA training

  • Design new MSA interventions to sustaining activities of this project.

Implementation

For sustainability and cost effectiveness, this created organ will be anchored to existing malaria control committees put in place by NMCP in most countries.

This project plans to:

  • Further build NMCP capacity for MSA and boost their ongoing interventions

  • Engage NMCPs into this multi-country project

  • Actively work with the NMCP members during the 2 years of this project to assist them in the development of active ToRs which will be embedded in their annual portfolio of activities

  • Some key/strategic decision makers from the NMCPs, the ministry of health, agriculture, environment and other related ministries will be engaged in this process to facilitate and sustain activities of the established MSA task force.
