Research Uptake
Objectives
The expected outcome of the proposed research activities are:
contribution to the reduction of vectors densities
mitigation of insecticide resistance in the Anopheles populations in the selected hotspots
checking the quality of LLINs sold in markets to ensure their effectiveness prior to field use for mosquito control
map out current WASH practices at community level in the project countries
This generated knowledge will be shared at national and regional level for improved vector control toward planned malaria elimination programs in an African setting and to improve WASH practices at health care units.
The multisectoral task force established in the course of this research in collaboration with the NMCP in each country will ensure the dissemination and sustainability of the findings of this research and their integration in national policies and decision making on malaria vector control. The task force will continue to support multisectoral approaches for the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases including malaria in the future.
