Symposium on Climate Change and Health in Africa at the 28th Annual ISEE Conference

The 28th Annual International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Conference will be held in Rome, Italy, from 1-4 September 2016. The theme of the conference is Old and new risks: challenges for environmental epidemiology. At the ISEE conference, members from the WHO-TDR research projects have organised and will be contributing to a symposium on Climate change and health in Africa: challenges with water-related and vector-borne diseases. This symposium will bring together researchers from two sub-regions of the African continent to address the effects of climate change on health with a focus on water related and vector borne diseases.
The symposium will be chaired by Dr Guéladio Cissé from Project E and co-chaired by Dr Bernadette Ramirez from WHO-TDR. In addition to Drs Cissé and Ramirez, contributors to the symposium will be Dr Brama Koné from Project E, Prof. Moses Chimbari from Project A, Dr Lucinda Fairhurst from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and Dr Siméon Kenfack from the Africa Water Association.
