Team B Develops Publicity Materials for Dissemination of Key Findings to Different Audiences
September 30th, 2016
Sharing findings with different stakeholders is an important aspect of the TDR/IDRC research initiative. To ensure that research is shared as effectively as possible, the messages should be appropriately tailored to the key audiences. In preparation to roll out the dissemination of key research findings among the various stakeholders, Team B convened a five day Communication Strategy Materials Development Workshop. The objectives of this workshop were to:
- establish the state of preparedness for the communication strategy roll-out;
- determine appropriate key messages for specific dissemination tools;
- develop prototype/templates for the publicity materials selected;
- identify outreach activities for communication strategy implementation;
- develop a budget for promotion and publicity materials; and
- assign duties to project team members.
During the workshop, key messages were developed for malaria and Rift Valley fever in both Swahili and English languages. The dissemination tools developed included posters, banners (both pull-up and horizontal banners), flyers, as well as branded caps, t-shirts and dust coats. All the tools that were developed contained simple but clear key messages on malaria and Rift Valley fever.
Some of the publicity materials developed during the workshop include:
